EFF Member of Parliament, Pro Khoza has congratulated the two ANC councillor candidates who won the two wards in his area but warned the Economic Freedom Fighters will continue to fight for services to people.
“The reason I’m congratulating them is because as fighters we are not envious or jealous,” Khoza said on Facebook on Saturday, “but we must make it clear that we want better services for our people.
The two EFF ward contesters, Collen Lukhele and Victor Mbethe, were defeated by the two ANC contesters, Elkhan Lubhede and Mandla Motaung, in Wednesday’s local goverment elections.
Collen got 10.68% to Lubhedes 85% in Khoza’s ward 23 and Mbethe got 10.77% to Mandla Motaung’s 79.04%.
“I congratulate them for their re-elections into the council,” Khoza said.
“I hope this time around they will work closely with the community.
“If anything goes wrong we will not fold our arms. We will fight.”
Khoza, who is fairly charismatic, was elected during 2014’s general elections to Parliament and since then he has always been a thorn on the side of ANC leaders in the Mpumalanga area of Badplaas where he hails from.
