The South African Sugarcane Association, or SASA, wants to give blackyouths who completed matric recently or who are to complete in 2016 bursaries.

“Many of the young black children living within the rural sugarcanegrowing regions dream of being engineers, extension officers andagricultural economists but few have the access and, or, the financeto complete their studies,” the association said.

“The objective of the program is to increase the number of highpotential learners from socially and academically disadvantagedbackground by providing access to quality education and training inthe field of engineering, agriculture and science”.
