Mpumalanga economic development MEC Eric Kholwane has congratulated the administrative heads of the three entities under his control for scooping the awards this week.
The Auditor-General awarded the provincial treasury, economic development and gambling board the trophies for clean audits on Tuesday.
Spokesman Letshela Jonas said it was the first time in history that the economic development got an award for clean audit.

But both the Mpumalanga gambling board and treasury has been getting this for the past five consecutive years.
“MEC Kholwane was obviously happy but congratulated the administrative heads of the three institutions for the good job, however he insisted that they must continue to support other institutions to reach the level where they are,” Jonas said.
“The trophies are handed yearly to public sector institutions whose financial and non-financial report were free from material findings,” he said.
Kholwane himself said: “We need all state departments to improve the systems of internal controls and cultivate an environment for sustained compliance with governance policies
“Our desire is that all our departments, public entities and municipalities should always strive to achieve the highest financial governance accolades, which is important for public trust”.
The department of co-operative governance and traditional affairs also scooped an AG trophy for clean audit.
