A train was derailed between Machadodorp and Carolina after tracks were stolen on Friday night.
Tracks and cables are stolen and allegedly sold to scrapyards.
According to a Facebook post released by cops‚ the train derailed about 12km before it reached Machadodorp.
“Tracks were stolen last night. Train has derailed. This is due to high levels of ferrous and non ferrous metal thefts‚” the post read.
