Kate Chiloane, who was 30 years old, only began working at the school last year after graduating from the University of Venda.
The man who killed a female teacher at the Sediba sa Thutho Primary School in Bushbuckridge and later killed himself is “a disgrace to our society”.
While social networks were sending condolences to the family of the 30-year-old Kate Chiloane, one user described the woman’s killer as a disgrace.
“A man who kills his partner and later kill himself… He is a disgrace to all MEN!! REST IN PEACE, Kate Chiloane!!!” Miyelani Hlungwani said.
She was shot by her husband, who later shot himself dead at their home.
Officials say the tragic incident that led to the killing of the woman teacher is being investigated.

She was shot at around 8am on Tuesday this week at the premises of the Sediba sa Thutho Primary School while she was on her way to the classroom.
The husband had asked permission to speak to Chiloane from the principal.
Chiloane was a Grade 2 teacher.
When he was granted permission, he met her on her way to class and that’s when he took out a gun and killed her.
Education MEC Regina Mhaule said they were shocked at the killing and sent their condolences to her family.
“The department will work with SAPS and other relevant institutions to probe the circumstances that led to this regrettable incident” she said.
This latest incident comes as public outrage continues to soar following attacks on women during women’s month.
Last week deputy education minister Mduduzi Manana appeared in the Randburg magistrates court on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (Assault GBH), this after he admitted to having attacked a female patron at a night club in Johannesburg after she called him gay.
