She will be inaugurated as the 5th Premier of Mpumalanga – the first female Premier in history.
Newly elected Premier Refilwe Mtshweni will be inaugurated at eMalahleni’s Ackerville township on the Monday of 27 May 2019.
The event will take place at the Sy Mthimunye stadium from 9 in the morning, her office said.
Mtshweni was elected by the provincial legislature on 22 May 2019 as Premier of Mpumalanga.
“As part of the build-up to the inauguration, Mpumalanga government departments, provincial public entities and some national state-owned entities operating in the province, will converge at the Sy Mthimunye stadium from Saturday 25 May until Monday 27 May 2019, to offer government services to the local community at their doorstep,” spokesman Zibonele Mncwango said in a statement.
He said the community members around eMalahleni were urged to visit the service delivery exhibitions over the 3 days – starting at half-passed 7 in the morning each day.
