The police in Mpumalanga have appealed to anyone with information to come forward and assist them in the arrest of the men who shot and killed Nicholas Peu.
The 41-year-old Peu was murdered at his rented house in Siyabuswa’s Madubaduba village a week ago (2 November 2016) and cops appeal to anyone with information to call investigators on 071 312 5641.
Peu worked in the office of the mayor of JS Moroka local municipality, Jim Skosana, and the ANC said his death has caused shivers in the organisation as nothing was stolen from his house and car.
Mpumalanga police spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said the killers entered through Peu’s garage door and went straight to his room at around 9pm of the Wednesday of last week, shooting and killing him.
A neighbour the next morning who saw something was wrong at Peu’s house alerted the cops.
“When police arrived at the scene they indeed found the body with bullet wounds.
“The whole house had been ransacked and clothes were lying all over,” said Hlathi, adding Peu was living alone in the house.
“So far the reason for the killing is unknown and any person with information is urged to contact us on 071 312 5641”.
