Lekwa sub-region SANCO chairman Linda Dhlamini is now the civic organisation’s deputy provincial secretary.

Dhlamini was elected Mike Soko’s deputy on Friday (2 Jun) at the civic organisation’s 7th elective congress at the Badplaas’s Aventura Resort.

Dhlamini takes over from Refiloe Mahlabogoane who was elected into the organisations national executive committee.

Gert Sibande SANCO secretary Bongani Mwale said the election of Dhlamini to serve as provincial deputy secretary will add value in the provincial executive committee of SANCO.

“We are more than convinced that he will tackle his new responsibility with great vigour,” Mwale said.

“We wish him well in his new duty to serve ‘Abahlali’ in the province,” he said in a statement released on Sunday.

Dhlamini is also the mayor of Lekwa municipality in Standerton.

He was elected as the municipality’s mayor after the 3 August 2016’s local government elections.

“Comrade Linda Dhlamini will contribute greatly in undertaking SANCO mandate of changing people’s lives in the process to alleviate the plight of the poor,” Mwale said.

He said now they are more than ready to confront all those who are enemies of service delivery.

“Sanco will continue to build a stronger organisation that will hit a head-on collision with all enemies of service delivery,” he said.
