He was caught near the Alkmar crossing on the N4 driving 250km/h.
Nkululeko Mabuza (31) has been released on a R1000 bail by the Mbombela Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He was caught on Tuesday evening on the N4 Toll Road near Alkmar in Mpumalanga driving at 256km/h.
This is a 120km/h zone and Mabuza was charged with reckless driving.
He is expected back in court on 5 October 2017.
