The department of water and sanitation has asked that people should use water carefully as water levels continue to drop.

Dam water levels dropped by 1% between last week and this week, the department said.

It said in a report released on Monday this week that on average water levels dropped from 75.7% to 74.7% in just seven days.

The Olifants river dropped from 66.9% to 66.1%.

The Inkomazi-Usuthu dropped from 77.1% to 76.3%.
