Daughter of ANC heavyweight Mathews Phosa, 27-year-old Tshepiso, has a real life story out in a book which speaks about her past in an abusive relationship.
The union says the moratorium on government jobs is just a way by ANC leaders to preserve jobs for factional cronies.
The South African municipal workers union has condemned the freezing of 41 000 vacant municipal posts in South Africa, saying the vacancies remain unfilled because ANC leaders want to use them to patronise certain members in factional battles.
Mpumalanga Samwu leader Saul Semelane said this week that the vacancies are not because the country’s unemployed people are unskilled and do not qualify for jobs “but rather that jobs are factionally reserved for certain individuals as payment for pushing political agendas”.
“We are now more convinced than ever,” Semelane said.
“We therefore urge all political parties to desist from interfering in the day-to-day running of municipalities as there are constitutional institutions charged with the running of municipalities.
“We further reiterate our call for the immediate filling of vacancies across all municipalities in the interest of service delivery for South Africans, including the prospects of people being employed on a full-time basis with job security,” he said.
