Mpumalanga ANC spokeswoman Sasekani Manzini has the highest number of branch nominations to go to the 30-seat Mpumalanga legislature.
He is the YCL’s national central committee member but also the deputy leader of the SACP in the Mpumalanga province.
A list with a CR17 logo released on social media wants Govan Mbeki municipal council speaker Nhlakanipho Zuma in the ANC national executive committee.
It also has ex-ANCYL deputy president Ronald Lamola.
The list is called ‘CR17 Youth Nomination to the ANC NEC’. It doesn’t mention those who must serve in the top 6.
The CR17 has ex-KZN Premier Senzo Mchunu as secretary, Lindiwe Sisulu as deputy president, Gwede Mantashe as chairman and Febe Potgieter-Gcubile as treasurer.
Nhlakanipho is the speaker of the Govan Mbeki municipality and the 2nd deputy secretary of the SACP in the Mpumalanga province.
Zweli Mkhize has been dumped by the CR17 group for Sisulu to enter the race as deputy president.
He is reportedly a stand alone man, vying for the party’s number one job.
