“The event will be used to reflect on the current challenges facing our country and movement,” he said.

“It is aimed at consolidating as many stakeholders to build a broad front to confront any format of gender based violence in our society.

“We believe this is one barbaric act that we often take for granted while it erodes revolutionary morality and perpetuates the historical legacy of violence in the country,” Dikgale said.

The event will start at 10 in the morning and expected are leaders from ANC, Cosatu and SANCO who will deliver messages of support.

Missiles are set aside for this year’s fight against corruption…

The SACP in Mpumalanga announced this coming weekend as the weekend of the provincial Red October rally.

The Red October rally is held by the party every year as their campaign against corruption.

Provincial communist spokesman Lesetja Dikgale said firebrand leader Bonakele Majuba will not be the main speaker in this weekend’s Red October rally to be held in eMalahleni.

He said Majuba will introduce leaders who will be at the rally at the eMalahleni town hall on 29 October 2016.

“The rally will be addressed by a member of the central committee and Majuba as the provincial leader will introduce us,” said Dikgakle.

He said he will introduce provincial and national leaders of the ANC, Cosatu, YCL and Sanco who will give messages of solidarity at the rally.

He said this year’s Red October rally theme is: “Advance public property rights, defend our state own enterprises, fight corruption, rent-seeking and corporate capture”.
