The five Mpumalanga MECs who were announced in Premier David Mabuza’scabinet reshuffle on Wednesday this week were sworn in on Thursdaymorning.
The five members of the Mpumalanga provincial executive councilcommitted themselves before Tshwane High Court Judge Fransis Legodi atthe Mbombela Magistrates Court on Thursday that they will be servantsof the people.
DD Mabuza’s office said the Premier congratulates Vusi Shongwe, whowas moved from the Safety and Security Department to the Agricultureand Land Affairs Department, new Human Settlement MEC Speedy Mashilo,Public Works, Roads and Transport MEC Sasekani Manzini, SocialDevelopment MEC Busi Shiba as well as new Safety and Security MEC PatNgomane on their swearing in to the executive council.

Two weeks ago when the ANC deployed former Social Development MECNomsa Mtsweni as mayor of Thembisile Hani local municipality andformer Public Works, Roads and Transport MEC Dumisile Nhlengethwa asspeaker of Msukaligwa local municipality two vacant posts were created inMabuza’s cabinet.
Shiba came in Mtsweni’s place as the new Social Development MEC whileManzini took over from Nhlengethwa’s Public Works, Roads and Transportpost.
Andries Gamede was sacked as Agriculture and Land Affairs MEC andreplaced by Shongwe while Ngomane took over from Shongwe’s previouspost, the Safe and Security Department, and Violet Siwela’s HumanSettlements post taken by Mashilo.
