The five Mpumalanga MECs who were announced in Premier David Mabuza’s†cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday this week were sworn in on Thursday†morning.
The five members of the Mpumalanga provincial executive council†committed themselves before Tshwane High Court Judge Fransis Legodi at†the Mbombela Magistrates Court on Thursday that they will be servants†of the people.
DD Mabuza’s office said the Premier congratulates Vusi Shongwe, who†was moved from the Safety and Security Department to the Agriculture†and Land Affairs Department, new Human Settlement MEC Speedy Mashilo,†Public Works, Roads and Transport MEC Sasekani Manzini, Social†Development MEC Busi Shiba as well as new Safety and Security MEC Pat†Ngomane on their swearing in to the executive council.
Two weeks ago when the ANC deployed former Social Development MEC†Nomsa Mtsweni as mayor of Thembisile Hani local municipality and†former Public Works, Roads and Transport MEC Dumisile Nhlengethwa as†speaker of Msukaligwa local municipality two vacant posts were created in†Mabuza’s cabinet.
Shiba came in Mtsweni’s place as the new Social Development MEC while†Manzini took over from Nhlengethwa’s Public Works, Roads and Transport†post.
Andries Gamede was sacked as Agriculture and Land Affairs MEC and†replaced by Shongwe while Ngomane took over from Shongwe’s previous†post, the Safe and Security Department, and Violet Siwela’s Human†Settlements post taken by Mashilo.
