He said he doesn’t have a problem with being nominated but won’t be going around, all over the place asking comrades to nominate him.
ANC deputy president David Mabuza met with provincial chairman Mandla Ndlovu and divulged to Ndlovu that he is not the type that would go all over the place parading himself for positions.
He said if branches choose to nominate him he would avail himself but won’t parade himself for positions.

The meeting was probably the first since Ndlovu was elected Mabuza’s successor in April 2022.
Mabuza is facing the most embarrassing and difficult time in his political career as his home province is seen to be officially dumping him.
Nominations are currently opened for positions ahead of the 55th elective congress in December 2022 and Mpumalanga has announced in a statement that they would support justice minister Ronald Lamola for the post of deputy president.
With Mabuza, Lamola and acting secretary-general Paul Mashatile vying for the deputy president position, only Mpumalanga has officially announced it is backing Lamola.
Mashatile’s name was raised by Limpopo and Gauteng, also North West could back him – while Mabuza has not received any provincial nomination, and is said to be pinning his hope on branches.

Another province that could pronounce Lamola is Northern Cape, where provincial leader Zamani Saul wants young leaders to fill positions in the ANC’s top 6 leadership on the so-called “generational mix” campaign.
The ANC’s second largest province, Eastern Cape, wants its own leader Oscar Mbuyane to emerge as the deputy president in December once and for all.
The provinces agree that President Cyril Ramaphosa should be given another chance to lead as President.
Ndlovu said they are in discussions with KZN – the party’s largest province – to convince them about Ramaphosa and Lamola.
“Comrade Mabuza said that he is waiting for branches to nominate and he is putting his destination in the hands of the branches,” Ndlovu is quoted saying in the Sunday World.
Ndlovu said the PEC’s pronouncement of Ramaphosa and Lamola last week didn’t mean branches cannot have a different view.
“The PEC doesn’t nominate candidates as it is not in the status of branches, so we will give branches to nominate their own candidates,” said Ndlovu.
