The manager of the SABC at their Mpumalanga offices is being investigated for nepotism…

SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago confirmed they were investigating Quinton Lenyai after a complaint that a company that his wife worked for was appointed to do cleaning at their Mpumalanga office.

The Sowetan reported this week that Lenyai’s wife, Memory Lenyai, worked for the Nozihle Cleaning Services and this Nozihle Cleaning Services was appointed right after Lenyai took over as the head of the provincial office to replace another company that was giving cleaning services at their Mbombela office.

The paper said so many people knew Memory did management at Nozihle Cleaning Services before it scooped the tender at SABC and were not happy with this kind of nepotism.

But Nozihle Cleaning Services owner, Dolly Mbuyana, said her company had always been in the public broadcaster’s database and that it was untrue she scored the tender because she once hired Lenyai’s wife.

“I would say it was just a concidence that we got a contract with the SABC where her husband is employed.

“When I met her, she was unemployed and had just moved to this side and I found out that she was experienced in facility management and I employed her,” said Memory Lenyai.
