Born on 1 March 1983, the Mexican-Kenyan star is set for another big role. 


Mexican-Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o will become the mother of prominent comedian Trevor Noah in a coming movie.

She was announced this week as the person who will be Patricia Noah.

The film will be based on Noah’s award-winning autobiography ‘Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood’.

Lupito shared the news on social media this week.

When I read @TrevorNoah’s “Born A Crime,” I could not put the book down. Excited to announce that I will be starring in and producing its feature film adaptation! #BornACrime.”

She is the daughter of Kenyan politician Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o and his wife Dorothy Ogada Buyu and was born in Mexico in 1983.

During this time, her father was a teacher in Mexico City but she was raised in Kenya from the age of one.

She attended college in the United States, earning a bachelor’s degree in film and theatre studies.

Producers are still to announce who will play Trevor’s father – Robert Noah.
