The 32-year-old man up for the murder of Gabisile Shabane and1-year-old Nkosikhona Ngwenya will apply for bail when he returns to court next week.

Sources say his lawyer made indications this week that when Thokozani Msibi appears again at the Down Town court they will apply for bail.

It is expected the state will oppose Msibi on the grounds that cops are still investigating and his release on bail may hamper investigations.

Police spokesman Brigadier Leornard Hlathi said investigations “regarding further suspects is underway”.

“The investigation is underway as it is believed the arrested suspect did not carry the evil act alone,” Hlathi said.
