The police in Mpumalanga have nailed a man suspected of killing police Sergeant Enock Nsimba after 6 months of being in hiding.

He was arrested by the White River K9 unit Saturday afternoon 17 September 2022.

Nsimba was part of a police team that responded to information about an armed robbery syndicate in Kabokweni.

8 men were found at the Gutswa guesthouse on 25 March 2022 and they began shooting at cops.

Nsimba was shot dead as a result but six of the men were arrested on the scene.

Police spokesman Colonel Donald Mdhluli said a 7th suspect handed himself over to cops few days later.

“The 8th male suspect is aged 33 and was arrested at Bhejukufa in Kabokweni in the afternoon of 17 September 2022,” Mdhluli said.

Police boss Lieutenant-General Semakaleng Manamela thanked her cops for the arrest of the 8th suspect which she hopes will assist in strengthening the state’s case against all accused persons.

The suspect appeared at the Kabokweni Magistrates Court on Monday 19 September 2022.
