A decision to suspend Skhosana was taken during a provincial command team meeting on the Saturday afternoon of 28 August 2016 for skipping payment of party levy.

It was revealed in a charge sheet leaked by a highly-placed source in the party’s provincial command team that Skhosana had not been paying his party levy since the 15 June 2016. Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema said Skhosana had physically reversed the debit order and that that amounted to fraud. He said those who skipped payment of the party levy would be dealt with “decisively”.

At a media conference on Wednesday mid-morning at the Riverside government complex, Sedibe said: “our provincial secretary is still under summary suspension but he has already undergone the disciplinary processes, he has attended the disciplinary hearing. We are just waiting for the recommendations of the disciplinary committee (DC). The process is that from the DC it must go to the war council and from there it must go to the CCT which will sit in a month’s time, only then will the decision be given to the province.”
