The ANC says Timothy Khoza died in the line of duty.
The ANC has sent its condolences to the family of the member of parliament who died in a car accident on Wednesday.
The ANC’s Zizi Kodwa said Khoza died while serving his people and country.
“May his family, his comrades find comfort in a life lived for the betterment of the lives of others,” he said.
Khoza is from the Kabokweni constituency in the eHlanzeni region of Mpumalanga and ascended to the National Assembly after the 2014 general elections.
He was a member of the education portfolio committee, doing an oversight visit to schools
in the Paarl region, Western Cape when the accident happened on Tuesday morning.

Three fellow MPs who are also in the committee -Nomalungelo Gina from the ANC, Ian Ollis from the DA and Cynthia Majeke from the UDM – were seriously hurt in the accident.
The law-makers were travelling together and the cause of the accident is still unclear.
President Jacob Zuma said they were shocked by Khoza’s passing.
“We wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace,” said Zuma.
DA leaders said they joined those who are mourning Khoza’s passing and wished a speedy recovery to the three other MPs who are in hospital.
“May Mr Khoza’s soul rest in peace and his family and loved ones find solace during this time. The DA wishes those in hospital a speedy recovery,” said Bonginkosi Madikizela.
