He came to the graduation ceremony to obtain his Masters degree and says this is his dream come true.
Mpumalanga EFF chairman Collen Sedibe is now in possession of a Masters degree in Public Management.
Sedibe obtained the academic achievement with the Regenesys Business School in Gauteng.
He said now he wants to try and aim for a PhD with UJ, Wits or UKZN.
Sedibe matriculated in 1992 and enrolled with the University of the North, Turflop campus in 1994, Pursuing a junior degree in public management.
“I have been studying since that time and I have obtained a number of certificates with credible institutions like Wits, namely a Program and Project Management certificate and Leadership and Governance certificate,” he said.
“I feel great as if this is a dream come true. It was not easy but one have to be patient and take it slowly but surely,” he said.
He said all was made possible by time management.
“Time management is very key to busy people like us,” he said.
“I used the early hours of the morning to study because during the day there is no time at all” the EFF member of legislature said.
“I’m inspired by many people around me and it has been our slogan during the apartheid days that we can run and learn at the same time. The EFF also encourages all its public representatives and leaders to learn and acquire more skills in order to be able to lead the society to the right direction,” he said.
He also possesses two other post graduate certificates – (Population Studies and Dynamics from UKZN and Advance Monitoring and Evaluation from Stellenbosch University.
“As things stands, PHD is loading with either University of Johannesburg, Wits or UKZN depending on which one will admit me first,” Sedibe said.
