The news were confirmed by his wife on Wednesday afternoon.

Musician Hip Hop Pantsula or HHP aka Jabulani Tsambo has died at the age of 38.

His wife Lerato Sengadi confirmed to the media that the popular Hip Hop star has indeed died.

“Yes, yes, it’s true. I am with the family at the moment,” said a traumatised Sengadi to online entertainment newspaper TshisaLive  on Wednesday afternoon (24 Oct).

Details were still sketchy but Tsambo has in the past opened up about suffering from depression.

In 2015, he reportedly tried to commit suicide three times.

Also known as Jabba, the local Hip Hop star said the reason he wanted to end his own life was after he felt like a “loser”.

“I thought to myself radio is starting to play trap music and I’m not able to do trap music,” the enthusiast rapper said while talking to Gareth Cliff on Cliff Central in 2015, adding that’s when he felt like a loser in life.

He had tried to poison himself but could not work, he told Cliff. He said afterwards he heard a voice saying “if you want to die you need to live”.

Those close to the star, including AKA, flooded Twitter with messages of condolences.
