Refilwe Tsipane warns of scam email asking for money

She has rushed to open a case of fraud against anyone responsible for such.


Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane has warned the public about a scam email doing the rounds in which the fraudsters use her name to email people asking for money.

She has now reported the matter to the cops and is appealing to anybody who might have received it not respond it nor be taken for a ride by it.

Anyone who has received it should contact the police, the Premier said Thursday afternoon 11 June 2020.

“People must not respond nor give this scammers any money as I do not send anyone emails asking for anything,” she appealed.

Her spokeswoman Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni said the Premier’s office was alerted to this email when several people called asking about its authenticity.

The police are investigating a fraud case.
