Now Sassa has announced they will continue paying the R350 in mid-June.
The reason why beneficiaries had to re-apply for the grant was due to a change in the government regulatory framework under which the grant is provided to members of the public.
This followed the suspension of the state of disaster put in place to fight the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The R350 grant had been provided under the disaster management act that governed the Covid-19 lockdown era.
