Another body of a murdered school girl in Mpumalanga has been found. Secunda police reported finding another stripped and dumped body of a 11-year-old girl in eMbalenhle township at the same time as Ermelo cops reporting finding a body of a 16-year-old murdered girl at the Wesselton township.
Captain Magonseni Nkosi of Secunda cops said the child disappeared on the Thursday afternoon of the past week after she knocked off from school and was found dead in eMbalenhle’s Extension 17 the next day by the residents who alerted them.
On Tuesday, the police in Ermelo said they wanted to identify a body of a 16-year-old girl who was found murdered in a ditch near Wesselton township’s Mpumalanga Stadium on Saturday morning in order to find her family.
“We are investigating a case of murder and no arrests have been made yet,” said Nkosi, adding the girl had bruises to her face and they suspect she died after being strangled.
A suspect, a convicted murderer who was out on parole, has been arrested and appeared in the Ermelo magistrates court on Thursday after members of the community informed the police of the suspect’s whereabouts.
Anyone with information should contact Ermelo police investigators on 082 373 8389/ 079 891 4813 and Secunda on 082 922 9757.
