
A search for a Swiss tourist residing in Cape Town who disappeared in Mpumalanga 6 days ago is continuing.
Mpumalanga police confirmed on Thursday morning the search to find Nick Wiesemann was still on.
A week ago the 76-year-old man arrived in Mpumalanga with his wife Bettina and daughter Nicolette in order to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
On Saturday – 17 September 2016 – the couple celebrated at the Lowveld Botanical Gardens in Mbombela but then soon afterwards Nick disappeared.
Media reports show the man has been living in Cape Town for the past 10 years.
“We are continuing with investigations. The search is continuing and we’d like to appeal to anybody with information on Mr Wiesemann to come forward and assist,” provincial police spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi told 013NEWS on Wednesday.
“He left the reception and went to fetch a jacket from his car after 5pm, but he never returned to the building,” Hlathi said.
The Bossie Community Justice and ER24 officials in the province are assisting cops in the search asWieseman.
