The thugs first began with the worker and waited for his employer to arrive to the trap.

They then tied him as well, before going to his house, cleaning it out of valuable belongings.

Provincial spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said seven guns, a camera, watch, laptop and cellphone, estimated at R416 000, were taken by the men.

“The 63-year-old was busy working at the field with his employee,” said Hlathi.

“At about 10am, the employee asked to go to the toilet where he took longer than expected.

“The employer, who is the complainant, decided to go and look for him. He knocked at the door without success and decided to open it, where he was knocked down [by the men], choked and tied with wires”.

Hlathi said when the employer managed to untie himself and opened the toilet door, “he found his employee also tied up.”

The drama happened in the Sterkspruit area of Mpumalanga in Ngodwana.

“His car, a Nissan Juke, was also missing, only to be found abandoned between Sabie and Whiteriver,” Hlathi added.

Anyone with information on the men should call the cops on 082 448 9217.
