The EFF says they support the ANC presidential hopeful in his bid to be the ANC’s 14th President in December.

The EFF says ANC ex-treasurer Mathews Phosa is one of their own and should be the one who takes charge after December.

Phosa came to the graduation ceremony of EFF Mpumalanga leader Collen Sedibe at the Casambo lodge in Mbombela a week ago, also attended by national secretary Godrich Gardee.

Introducing Phosa, Gardee said the ANC heavyweight is”one of our own”, according to reports over the weekend.

Sedibe graduated with a Masters degree with the Regenesys Business School on 28 Oct 2017.

Gardee reportedly told the audience: “In him we have a revolutionary and a freedom fighter.

“Not Baba ka Duduzane because he represents corruption”.

He added they want Phosa to win the ANC presidential race in December so that he is there when the EFF and ANC hold coalition government talks in 2019.

“We hope soon when you lose the race in Nasrec you will come to the EFF,” Gardee reportedly said while on stage at Casambo.

“We are just a phone call away. We want a very strong EFF in 2019,” he said.

When he took to the podium, Phosa suggested the ANC, EFF,  UDM and Cope work together in 2019.

“The time for political realignment is coming and no one can avoid it. I’m calling for unity of the progressive forces. We are all one,” he said.
