Bushbuckridge mayor Sylvia Nxumalo is happy her municipality received a clean audit.
This comes few months after the municipality scooped an award at the annual Chartered Institute of Government Financial, Audit and Risk Officers (CIGRARO) event in Cape Town.
The municipality was honoured for being the most improved municipality in terms of audit outcomes.
For the financial year 2016/17, the Auditor-General’s report shows the Bushbuckridge municipality received a clean audit and Nxumalo is quite content with it.

Nxumalo’s spokesman Aubrey Mnisi said they are proud of their work and wished “to announce that the financial statements were done in-house without the use of consultants.
“The statements were fairly presented,” Mnisi said.
“This is undoubtedly an achievement for a municipality which was at one stage placed under the provincial administration, to attain such a feat and to attain an unqualified audit outcome is a dream come true. The municipality’s goal of achieving a clean audit characterised by good governance is one step closer to realisation,” Mnisi said.
