He was shot in what others believe was a attempted hit on the young leader.
PRET secretary Sunday Mathebula has been discharged from hospital, sources have told a 013NEWS reporter.
But he is in hiding and cannot speak to anybody right now, a source close to him said on Friday.
Mathebula was shot in the stomach on the Friday night of 8 December 2017 and had since been lying on a hospital bed.
It is understood that he was parking his car in his Vosman home when unknown men pounced, torturing and shooting him in the stomach before dumping him near the Nkangala Industrial Park.
He was then moved to a Gauteng hospital on the Friday night, apparently after he had been found by security guards dumped near the industrial park.
Sources say Mathebula has been kept in a place not known by anybody to recover and be safe since his release from hospital.
013NEWS understands that even police investigators have not been able to find him, with his family telling them they don’t know where he is.
“Sunday is out of hospital,” the source said, “he came out yesterday (Thursday) and he will be fine,” the source told the 013NEWS reporter on Friday morning, adding that Vosman cops had already phoned Mathebula and said they were coming to meet him and take a statement from him.

Police spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said a case of attempted murder was opened in Gauteng on the same Friday but was then transferred to Vosman days later.
“We can confirm that we are investigating a case of attempted murder but we will not divulge more details at the moment as investigations are continuing,” Hlathi said.
