Mpumalanga police commissioner Lieutenant-General Mondli Zuma has condemned the murder of a 31-year-old man accused raping and then killing a 16-year-old girl.
Police said when they came to the scene the body of the man was already in ashes.
He was burnt on Saturday afternoon (13 Jan) by the community members of Zoeknog Trust, Acornhoek in Bushbuckridge.
The girl was found murdered the weekend before – on 7 January 2018 – and the community says her murderer was known and cops were not acting.

When they saw him on 13 January 2918, the community took the law into their own hands.
“I hereby make an earnest appeal to our people to cooperate with the Criminal Justice System by reporting criminals and making statements to the police so that criminals may be sentenced accordingly”, Zuma said.
A case of murder has been opened and the cops are appealing to the community to identify those who murdered the man.
