He escaped from jail a year ago and since then police have not been able to find him.
The Hawks in Mpumalanga are appealing to anyone with information to assist them find 23-year-old Dallas Mokoena for armed robberies.
The name ‘Dallas’ is his popular nickname, but Dallas’ real name is Norman Silvester Mokoena.
Hawks spokeswoman Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said Dallas targeted delivery trucks in Mpumalanga’s Bushbuckridge area of Marite.
He was denied bail by the Calcutta Magistrate Court when he appeared for armed robbery on 5 November 2019 but then soon afterwards Dallas disappeared from the court’s holding cell.
He had been investigated for bakery truck robberies in the Marite area and was arrested on 8 October 2019, charged with armed robbery and the possession of an unlicensed firearm.
“He was traced and arrested afterwards and was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition. He was charged on various armed robbery cases,” Sekgotodi said.
Police ask the public to not approach Dallas as he is dangerous.
