Mpumalanga safety and security spokesperson Joseph Mabuza has died.
Mabuza, who was MEC Pat Ngomane’s spokesperson, died in the early afternoon on Sunday (23 Dec) his family has confirmed.
He was travelling on a motorbike from the Lebombo border post when a car allegedly made a U-turn on the highway, killing him.
The accident occurred on the N4 towards Mozambique just before the Nkomazi toll gate at around 2 in the afternoon
“We are saddened as a family. It is really disturbing because the whole province knew him as an ambassador for road safety,” family spokesman Kingdom Mabuza said.
Mabuza’s death comes hours after his department reported the shocking deaths of 10 people killed in three separate road crashes overnight.
