The money will be used to buy food for the 90 pupils who will camp at the school for the duration of the exam period.

The EFF in Mpumalanga has donated R20 000 so that Phola Secondary School matric pupils can buy food while they camp at the school during the important exams.

The school was adopted by provincial leader Collen Sedibe early this year.

It is located in Sedibe’s area of Phola near Havyview and 90 matric pupils are currently sitting for their 2022 exams.

Sedibe also donated sleeper couches for the kids to sleep on at the school.

Also sanitary pads and toiletries were donated…

“Any country that does not invest in the future of its youth, is doomed to fail,” the EFF leader said.

“This is the reason we are here today, to encourage you, to support you and above all to show you that we care about your future,” he told the kids.

“The reason why we are donating all these things to you is because we don’t want you and your parents to worry about the things needed while you are here attending your camp. We just want you to focus all your energies on your books and nothing else,” said Sedibe.

Mpumalanga has registered a total of 71 582 learners who are to write their exams across 566 centres.

This number is the biggest in the history of writing such an examination in the province.
